SIR REG voted best album of 2010!!!

We are so proud!

Just a few days before NYE 2010 SIR REG got a late christmas present from the eminent internet radio station/site Paddy Rock Radio and their Celtic allies, the blog-zine Celtic Folk Punk. They let the listeners and visitors of the site vote for the best album of 2010, and out of many, many (42+) great albums we “won”. We are really honored and it took a few days to really sink in (partly hence this late post). We knew we had a good album, but we would never have guessed that it would make it to the top.

We were already excited in early 2010 when John from Paddy Rock asked us if they could air a few of our songs, starting slow with “Arrive on S:t Patrick’s Day” on their podcast. It might sound silly, but knowing that your song is aired between Flogging Molly and The Dubliners made my hands wet from sweat.

As we are currently writing/rehearsing new songs for a scheduled full length album our self-esteem is a bit higher than prior NYE. Exciting times indeed!

A big hug and Thank You to Paddy Rock Radio, Celtic Folk Punk and to everyone who voted.

About SIR REG band
SIR REG Made up of musicians from Ireland and Sweden, SIR REG is a band that took a long time in the making. For many years under the name The Barcrawlers, the core of the band gigged its ass off all over Scandinavia playing Irish pub songs at every venue imaginable. We'd felt we had achieved everything we'd set out to achieve as a "pub band" so decided it was about time to start making music that we ourselves wanted to make. Therefore, armed a bunch of original compositions we decided to hit the studio and create something we would be proud of - music we ourselves would listen to. We threw all of our influences into a melting pot and created a sound that represented each of us. Even though a few of us in the band have been playing together for quite a while, SIR REG is only in its infancy at the moment. We have a strong will to progress further as time goes on at the same time we feel we've laid the foundations for what our idea of SIR REG is. Let the adventure begin.......
